Green University Business Club Organizes Friendly Football Match to Promote Sportsmanship and Student Engagement

The Green University Business Club organized a friendly football match between the Argentina and Brazil teams for the students of Green Business School, Green University of Bangladesh, on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at the university's Central Field.

The event commenced in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Tamzid, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Green Business School, along with other distinguished faculty members. The match was formally inaugurated by Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Chairperson of Green Business School. In his inaugural address, he welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect. He also encouraged students to actively participate in extracurricular activities to strengthen interpersonal relationships, develop leadership skills, and promote their holistic growth.

The friendly match brought together regular and newly admitted students in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, unity, and healthy competition. With vibrant support from fellow students and football enthusiasts, the event created opportunities for collaboration, networking, and meaningful interaction between senior and junior students, reflecting the club's commitment to fostering student development beyond academic excellence.

Following the match, a prize-giving ceremony was held to recognize outstanding individual and team performances. Awards were presented in the categories of Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Supporter, and Best Fan of the Match. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tareque Aziz, Dean of Green Business School, presented trophies to the champion and runner-up teams. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of sports and extracurricular activities in nurturing discipline, leadership, teamwork, and the professional competencies required for future success.

The event was further enlivened by the enthusiastic participation of Mr. Saddam H. Mallik, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Mashroor Mushtaque, Lecturer, who passionately supported the Brazil and Argentina teams, respectively. Their active engagement strengthened the faculty–student relationship and added to the vibrant spirit of the occasion.

The entire program was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Laila Ferdousy, Assistant Professor of Green Business School and Moderator of the Green University Business Club. Her dedicated guidance, continuous encouragement, and active involvement ensured the smooth execution and overall success of the event.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Laila Ferdousy, who expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests, faculty members, participants, organizers, volunteers, supporters, and everyone whose collective efforts made the event both memorable and successful.
